Explanation DRM Port

(For remote shutdown function)

Understanding the DRM Function

In photovoltaic inverters, DRM stands for Demand Response Management. Solis inverters include a remote shutdown feature, enabling the inverter to be powered on or off remotely using logic signals.
The DRM port is equipped with an RJ45 terminal, where Pin 5 and Pin 6 are designated for the remote shutdown functionality.

Advantages of DRM

  • Enhancing grid stability: By adjusting power output according to grid requests, DRM-enabled inverters contribute to maintaining grid stability, especially during periods of high demand or unexpected fluctuations.
  • Supporting renewable energy: DRM facilitates the integration of renewable energy into the grid by preventing overloading.
  • Environmental impact: During peak demand periods, DRM can help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

How DRM Works

Solis inverters support remote shutdown function to remotely control the inverter to power on and off through logic signals.

Key Considerations

  • DRM participation may be optional or required, depending on local regulations and your utility provider.
  • Enrolling in DRM programs could impact your solar energy production and self-consumption patterns.
