Solis Wi-Fi configuration for
S2-WL-ST and S3-WIFI-ST dataloggers
Welcome to the setup guide for your Solis Wi-Fi Dongle! This device allows you to easily connect your Solis inverter
to your Wi-Fi network, enabling data monitoring through the SolisCloud app.
Our monitoring platform is SolisCloud - www.soliscloud.com
Follow the steps below to complete the setup quickly and easily.
STEP 1:
- Make sure you have the details of your home Wi-Fi network (name and password).
- Your Wi-Fi router should operate on 2.4GHz frequency.(Only during the configuration of the data logger). Once it is online, the 5GHz can be turned back on.
- Position your phone close to the inverter (within 1-2 meters).
STEP 2:
- Turn OFF your Mobile Data.
- (IOS: Go to Settings > Mobile > Mobile Data > Off)
- (Android: Go to Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Mobile Data > Off)
STEP 3:
- Forget your home Wi-Fi connection (make sure you record your password before completing this step).
(Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Click onor
> Click on Forget)
STEP 4:
- The Wi-Fi inverter dongle will show up as a Wi-Fi network (Solis_5A12********) in your available Wi-Fi list.
- The number after "Solis" will be the same as the serial number of your Wi-Fi dongle.
- See the example below
IOS
Android
Connect to Solis_5A12XXXXXXX
Password: 123456789
NOTE:
The number shown here is just an example. You will have a different number that matches your Wi-Fi dongle's serial number. Once connected it should say "No Internet Connection" or "Unsecured Network"
The Wifi signal name may be D_5A12XXXXXXX
STEP 5:
- Open your internet browser (e.g., Safari or Chrome) and enter the IP address 10.10.100.254 in the in the URL bar (not Google search bar).
- Then press Go/Search.
IOS
Android
NOTE: depends on the firmware version you might have two scenarios to enter the IP
- On the old firmware with the default password 123456789
- On the new firmware the user is required to set their own password, this password should be 6-15 digits and includes at least one number and at least one letter. For example, Solis1
- Once you enter a New Password, the system will ask you to re-login.
STEP 6:
- You should get a screen prompt asking for your Username and Password.
Enter Username: admin
Password entered in step 5: Solis1
Then Press Sign in.
STEP 7:
- You will see a screen as shown below. From the top left corner, press Quick Set (second option).
STEP 8:
- Thank Press on "Search" button and look for your house Wi-Fi network.
STEP 9:
- Select your Wi-Fi name and ensure that the RSSI (signal strength) is more than 30%.
(Anything below 30% is not recommended.) - Click OK once you have selected your network.
STEP 10:
- Enter your home Wi-Fi password.
- Click on the eye symbol to check the password before confirming.
- Click Save.
(Do not fill in any other fields.)
Note: After clicking Save, the stick will restart immediately. If the connection is successful, the wireless AP mode of the stick will be disabled. If not, you need to log in again and redo the configuration.
STEP 11:
- Once you see the confirmation message, open your SolisCloud app and check your Datalogger Status.
NOTE:
- It takes about 10 seconds for the monitoring stick to connect to the network.
- If the green LED light turns solid, the setup was successful.
- If the green LED keeps flashing, the setup failed.
„ALL DONE!“
IMPORTANT:
If setup is completed but there is no update in SolisCloud after 5 minutes, please double-check the Wi-Fi password, reset the dongle, and repeat all steps.
WIFI Configuration Videos
Please try these methods to configure your Datalogger.
1. App method using Solis Cloud app
2. Alternative method using access point and IP address
If the connection to the data logger cannot be established, the following should be checked:
- In the router, "allow connection to new devices" should be enabled (or the corresponding setting in German).
- All ports should be open, especially port 10000.
- The 2.4 GHz network should be used, not the 5 GHz network.(Only during the configuration of the data logger). Once it is online, the 5GHz can be turned back on.
- Do not use repeaters.
Reset the dongle: If the logger cannot be found by serial number, hold the reset button for 10 seconds to enter reset mode. Keep holding the button until only the red light is on the data logger (this could take up to 1 minute). As soon as you release the reset button, the orange and green lights will start flashing again.

TOP INSTALLATION MISTAKES
1. Installer doesn't realize the WIFI connection disconnected during the process. Try forgetting any wireless networks you are connected to in your device WIFI settings before starting the setup process.
2. When using alternative method, Installer puts 10.10.100.254 in the URL bar (TOP BAR) not Google search bar.
3. Inverter address has been changed. The address in the inverter settings menu must be 01 if a datalogger is connected directly to it.
3. Datalogger has been installed incorrectly usually by twisting the silver dongle itself rather than just turning the black ring. Do not overtighten.
Incorrect installation can damage the inverter!
Add your datalogger serial number on to your plant on our Monitoring Platform - www.soliscloud.com or via the App.
User guides for the platform are available in the 'Help' section once you are logged in.
If you have followed all the steps above and are still experiencing issues, please contact Solis Support for further assistance.
